Gazelle Foundation co-founders Gilbert Tuhabonye and Peter Rauch with Taylor Ellison of CBS Austin’s We Are Austin show Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Talking about the simple beauty of helping others. How families in Burundi used to constantly get sick, but not anymore thanks to work of the Gazelle Foundation. Gilbert Tuhabonye and Peter Rauch tell us how we can all be a part of this important work. Watch Clean Water Clear Futures.
In celebration of Gilbert’s 25th anniversary, we invite you to join us for a very special Spring For The Water event.
DK, Mike, and Kley Reynolds will accept the inaugural Peter Rauch World Changer Award. The emcee for the evening is Chikage Windler, CBS Austin. Tickets and tables are available here
The Gazelle Foundation for the water's very long-term goal is to help Burundi climb out of the bottom ten in the United Nations Human Development Index, and we feel this is possible by providing hundreds of thousands of people with access to clean water.
We did it! We raised more than $125,000 making this year’s Spring for the Water the most successful in the history of the event! Because of the amazing generosity of our sponsors and attendees, we have completely funded the Muryamurebe-Kigembe Project, which will provide clean water to 2,800 people AND we also completely funded the Karuhaya-Kuntatemwa Water Project, which will provide clean water to another 1,800 people.
We are so grateful to the Academy for Global Studies (AGS) students at Austin High School for supporting the Foundation through their 2nd annual Walk for the Water event. This year’s event took place on March 10th. AGS students fetched water from Ladybird Lake and then set off for a 3 mile walk on the trail carrying water jugs to represent the average distance that people in developing countries walk in order to get water (often this water is contaminated and barely drinkable).
Have you ever wanted to donate money to one of your favorite local nonprofits? You’re in luck. Amplify Austin provides that exact opportunity! For the second year in a row, the Gazelle Foundation has joined forces with Amplify Austin to help spread the word about our mission and our need for ongoing support.
