inKind and Gazelle Foundation: Partnering for Progress Toward Clean Water

When we gather around a table in Austin, clean water is rarely something we think about. Yet it makes every meal possible. It rinses fresh vegetables, fills water glasses, brews coffee, and keeps kitchens running.

Water is foundational.

For families in rural southwest Burundi, access to clean water can require walking miles each day to collect water that may not be safe to drink. The time and energy spent fetching water affects education, health, and economic opportunity.

That’s why inKind is honored to partner with Gazelle Foundation for Spring for the Water 2026.

The Need for Clean Water in Burundi

Gazelle Foundation builds sustainable, gravity-fed water systems in partnership with local communities in Burundi. These water systems are designed to last for generations, maintained by trained local water committees who ensure long-term impact.

The results are transformational. Access to clean water reduces long daily walks, improves health outcomes, and creates space for children to attend school and families to pursue economic opportunity. According to the World Health Organization, every $1 invested in clean water can yield $4–$12 in economic returns through improved health and productivity.

A clean water system built by the Gazelle Foundation reduces the average walk to water from 4 miles to 400 meters, about the distance around a running track. See a map where our systems are located.

A Shared Commitment to Sustainable Impact

inKind exists to strengthen the restaurants and neighborhoods that bring people together. Its model provides upfront funding and stronger margins to independent restaurants, helping them reinvest in their teams, ingredients, and long-term growth.

Supporting Gazelle Foundation reflects that same belief: that meaningful change comes from sustainable systems, not short-term solutions.

inKind is grateful to support Spring for the Water 2026 and the life-changing work Gazelle Foundation continues to lead.

Clean Water Creates the Foundation for Sustainability
