Preparation for water system construction in rural Burundi takes planning. Find out all the steps that are taken before construction kicks off. Our local project manager partners directly with those who will benefit from the water system. Local residents are hired to help build the system, and community members volunteer to maintain each part of the system. These measures ensure the water system will operate for years.

For the first time ever, we are naming a water system for our AMAZI For Burundi sustaining members. The Nyarumanga-Rubanga system has been selected as our 2021 AMAZI-funded system.
This system – our 60th in Burundi – serves a total of 1,700 area residents, including nearly 650 students at Rubanga School. Learn more about the difficulties this community faced without access to clean water. We thank our incredible community of givers for making this dream a reality.

We’re happy to report progress continues on the Kabuki-Banda-Kiroro water system, which was fully funded by your generosity at the 2020 Come Together For The Water event. The project is on time and on budget and is already improving the quality of life for people in Burundi.
