We are pleased to announce that construction on the Manyoni Extension water system #44 began in January of 2018 and finished in March of 2018!
This system provides clean water to over 800 residents of the thriving community in Songa Commune. We thank our generous supporters for making this project possible!

In 1993, when Gilbert was a junior in high school, he was severely burned in a massacre in the Tutsi-Hutu war of Burundi, witnessing mass murder and barely escaping with his life. He spent three months in the hospital recovering, and was told he'd never walk again. Women at the Karuhaya-Kuntatemwa project celebrate the completion of the first tap stand. Women and children are usually tasked with fetching water for their families and are most impacted by the completion for a water system.
